Jailer 2

Jailer 2 Box Office Collection

Jailer 2, which will release in 2026, is a follow up to Nelson Dilipkumar’s first installment of the same franchise from 2023. The film will again feature Nelson Dilipkumar, Rajinikanth, and several other returning actors. The plot for the second film will focus on a brand new character.

Before the release of his film, Jailer, in 2023, Nelson publicly voiced his intention to create sequels to all his projects. In 2025, Sun Pictures made it official and announced a sequel to the Jailer franchise. The cameras were set for principal photography on the second Jailer project in March of the same year, and took place all over India including Chennai, Kerala, Coimbatore, Mysore and finally in Goa. Filming for Jailer 2 was completed in 2026, one year prior to its scheduled worldwide release.

Anirudh Ravichander provided the film with an incredible soundtrack and score while the stunning cinematography and slick editing was accomplished by Vijay Kartik Kannan and R. Nirmal, respectively.

Jailer 2 received overwhelmingly positive reviews upon its release in October 2026, where it was made available to viewers in IMAX format, along with its traditional screen formats.
