The film’s leading role is actor Yash’s 19th and, therefore, was titled “Yash 19” before being renamed just a few days later upon the project’s official announcement in December 2023. With a reported budget of between ₹500 and ₹1,000 crore, it will be one of the costliest Indian films to ever be produced. Shooting was done in Kannada and English across the cities of Bengaluru, Mumbai, Goa, Thoothukudi, and Jaipur between August 2024 and October 2025.
Toxic hit global markets on August 26th, 2026. Critical reception was generally negative with critics calling the film’s pacing, screenwriting, themes, sexual content, excessive violence, and substance abuse poor. The performances by Yash and Kiara and the action sequences in the film, however, received positive feedback.
